Position Summary:

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Project Engineer to manage the communication and documentation processes for our modular units. This role is based in Chandler, AZ, and reports directly to the General Manager. The Project Engineer will be integral in coordinating construction submittals and managing requests for information, ensuring effective communication of project progress with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary custodian of project-specific documentation, overseeing submittal approvals and RFI management.
  • Support material procurement and verify inventory levels prior to production based on approved documentation.
  • Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the schedule of values.
  • Facilitate project planning processes for management approval.
  • Collaborate with project staff to develop project schedules, with potential support from the Scheduling Department.
  • Assist in managing change orders with clients, architects, and engineers.
  • Complete all necessary reporting as required.
  • Help prepare Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, requisitions, and proposals.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings and calls.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Building Science or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in commercial construction is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing construction setting is advantageous.
  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is essential for this role.
