Research Vivarium Husbandry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Vivarium Husbandry Animal Care Technician 2 to join our Insourcing Solutions Department in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities- Observe, monitor, and document the health and physical environment within the animal facility.
- Perform animal care and husbandry duties, including health observations and animal handling.
- Review and comply with all SOPs and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals for research.
- Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing/isolator or support areas.
- Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species as assigned by the on-site supervisor or facility veterinarian.
- Perform humane euthanasia and receive, inspect, and put away incoming animals.
- Ensure and provide for sentinel animals in each rodent housing area and maintain breeding and weaning procedures.
- Operate equipment and use supplies according to safety guidelines and perform general housekeeping and adhere to safety procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, Biology, or Biological Science preferred.
- A minimum of two years directly related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility.
- AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level (ALAT) within 18 months of hire.
