Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight:
  • Provide expert financial guidance to senior leadership and various departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, invoicing, and general accounting.
  • Analyze key financial metrics and performance indicators to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Implement internal controls and audits to safeguard assets and ensure accurate transaction recording.
  • Prepare and present timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
  • Support leadership in evaluating special projects and capital expenditures through financial analysis.
  • Monitor budget variances and report findings to senior management.

Project Accounting:
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and billing.
  • Assist in project setup and profitability analysis to aid in project management.
  • Advise on project budgeting and billing, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Manage project accounting formats and maintain financial files.

Cash Management:
  • Monitor the firm's cash position daily and manage banking relationships.
  • Oversee the firm's purchasing activities to ensure financial prudence.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, preferably in the AEC industry.
  • Experience managing the full accounting cycle, including payroll and general ledger.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Proven track record in developing internal controls and managing budgets.
  • Strong analytical skills to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Experience managing relationships with external auditors.
  • Familiarity with accounting regulations specific to the AEC industry.
  • Proficient in utilizing integrated ERP systems.
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role.
