Position Overview

The Communications Planning Manager serves as the key day-to-day leader for comprehensive communications planning. This role is pivotal in converting marketing and digital media objectives into actionable communication strategies while overseeing the performance of Associates on various projects. The Manager acts as the main liaison for client inquiries and must possess a robust understanding of both strategic and operational media principles.

This position entails regular client interaction, ownership of integrated communication plans, and the opportunity to spearhead project management and cross-media collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Associate Director in all facets of digital media plan formulation and recommendations.
  • Interpret communication and digital media strategies, translating them into actionable planning steps.
  • Manage Associates and oversee the daily execution of all media activities.
  • Proactively research and identify insights to enhance media offerings.
  • Fully embrace guiding principles for all media and communication recommendations.
  • Ensure the optimal execution of all approved communication plans and initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for client stewardship inquiries.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of clients' marketing goals and provide media recommendations to achieve these objectives.
  • Utilize proprietary research tools and apply insights during the planning process.
  • Prepare and present communication plans, including objectives, strategies, and supporting materials.
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with partner agencies, ensuring a seamless communication process.
  • Demonstrate agility by managing multiple brands and strategic initiatives while overseeing Associates.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with implementation teams to ensure clarity on brand communication objectives.
  • Train and mentor Associates, focusing on effective delegation and group dynamics.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and evaluate Associate performance through established processes.
  • Identify opportunities for Associate career advancement.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in digital media planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects for self and Associates.
  • In-depth understanding of media fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated training and leadership capabilities.
  • Enthusiasm and creativity in contributing new ideas to the planning process.
