Position Overview:
The selected candidate will serve as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients with neurological conditions. This role is integral to a dynamic neurology practice, collaborating closely with a seasoned Neurologist.

Practice Environment:
The APP will operate within a dual setting, encompassing both an outpatient neurology clinic and an inpatient hospital environment. Responsibilities will include thorough patient assessments, accurate diagnoses, effective treatment plans, and health education for patients and their families.

Work Schedule:
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Patient Demographics:
This role focuses on both inpatient and outpatient care, primarily serving adults aged 18 and older.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Nurse Practitioner is preferred but not mandatory.

Supervision:
The APP will work under the guidance of a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC Health.

Licensure and Certifications:
All certifications must be valid and complete prior to the start date, including:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- DHEC and DEA license applications (if applicable) must be initiated before the first day of work.

Key Responsibilities:
The APP will deliver direct patient care through the following activities:
- Conducting comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
- Performing inpatient rounds and coordinating care.
- Managing outpatient clinic hours to address patient needs.
- Evaluating and treating patients with neurological symptoms based on clinical assessments and diagnostic results.
- Initiating referrals and consultations as necessary.
- Documenting and billing for services rendered.
- Engaging in evidence-based practice and utilizing current research in clinical decision-making.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
- Supporting compliance and regulatory standards within the organization.
- Contributing to professional development through active participation in relevant organizations and continuing education.
- Potentially mentoring students enrolled in advanced practice programs.

Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, and sitting. Candidates must be capable of bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and reaching in all directions. Physical qualifications include maintaining vision corrected to 20/40, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and working in various environments.
