Position Overview
The selected candidate will serve as an Advanced Practice Provider dedicated to the comprehensive care of individuals with neurological conditions. This role is situated within a dynamic neurology practice, collaborating closely with a specialized Neurologist. The division encompasses both an outpatient neurology clinic and an inpatient hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider will be tasked with:
  • Conducting thorough assessments, establishing diagnoses, and formulating treatment plans.
  • Managing patient care, providing education, promoting health, and coordinating care for patients and their families facing both acute and chronic health challenges.
  • Performing clinical duties that include inpatient rounds, consultations, and outpatient clinic visits.

Work Schedule
This position entails a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, with a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Patient Demographics
The focus will be on both inpatient and outpatient populations, specifically adults aged 18 and older.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
  • A completed accredited Physician Assistant program or an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with current licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Preferred experience of at least 2 years as a Physician Assistant, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Nurse Practitioner.

Supervision and Collaboration
The Advanced Practice Provider will work under the supervision of a designated Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC Health.

Licensure and Certifications
All certifications must be valid and up-to-date prior to commencement, including:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Completion of DHEC and DEA license applications as required.

Essential Duties
The role involves providing direct patient care through:
  • Comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations.
  • Inpatient rounds and care coordination.
  • Ambulatory clinic hours for outpatient treatment.
  • Evaluation and management of patients presenting with neurological symptoms.
  • Referral initiation and collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Accurate documentation and billing for services rendered.
  • Engagement in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
  • Active participation in professional development and continuing education.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be capable of performing job functions that require standing, walking, and sitting, as well as lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Compliance with safety and health standards is essential.
