This position is with Lumicity, a well-established General Contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

  • Formulate and oversee the construction timeline and sequence from the project's inception to its conclusion.
  • Direct and support the efforts of Assistant Superintendents and/or craft personnel, including assessing construction techniques, workforce needs, material quantities, equipment requirements, temporary facilities, and work schedules. Accurately document hours worked.
  • Analyze and comprehend the project budget and estimate.
  • Examine submittals before the commencement of work installation.
  • Understand the scopes of subcontractor and supplier contracts and assist in the procurement process.
  • Facilitate the preparation, management, and updates of the project timeline, including quantities, sequence, activity duration, and procurement items in collaboration with the project team.
  • Establish and manage the punch list process and project close-out procedures in conjunction with the Project Manager, Owner, and Architect.
  • Organize and acquire necessary tools, materials, and equipment for the project.
  • Provide mentorship and training to other team members as required.

Pre-Construction Duties:

  • Work alongside the Project Manager to develop and manage the Pre-Construction Timeline.
  • Offer technical expertise during the Preconstruction phase.
  • Engage in Constructability Reviews and Value Engineering processes.
  • Create a site logistics strategy.

Safety Management:

  • Ensure that all project personnel and subcontractors are aware of and comply with job safety protocols, collaborating with safety support personnel as necessary.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks on the job site.
  • Strive for zero injuries across all projects.
  • Promptly report job site incidents or accidents to safety personnel.
  • Participate in onsite safety briefings.

Client Engagement:

  • Convey the owner's construction objectives to all field personnel.
  • Foster positive relationships with Owners, Architects, Program Managers, and Inspectors throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience with Higher Education projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project timelines.
  • Familiarity with subcontractors in the local area.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CMiC is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Asta is advantageous, but not mandatory.
