Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Blue Cliff College is in search of a Clinical Nursing Educator to join our team. This role is essential for guiding students through their clinical experiences, ensuring adherence to an established course framework while employing effective instructional strategies. The Clinical Educator will supervise patient care activities, promote high standards of care in clinical environments, engage in various educational initiatives, and ensure alignment with all lesson and care protocols. Continuous professional development through faculty meetings, training seminars, and in-service workshops is expected. Participation in institutional events such as advisory board gatherings and graduation ceremonies may also be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement the curriculum as outlined in the catalog and approved syllabi, adhering to all objectives and timelines.
  • Ensure the course fulfills the necessary contact hours as specified in the catalog.
  • Conduct clinical sessions using structured and engaging methods that reflect a professional work environment and encourage student engagement.
  • Commence and conclude all clinical sessions punctually.
  • Connect theoretical knowledge to practical clinical experiences.
  • Complete and submit all final grades and evaluations promptly at the end of the course.
  • Follow and uphold all institutional policies and guidelines.
  • Track and document daily attendance for clinical sessions.
  • Design and execute a teaching plan based on established course objectives.
  • Assess student proficiency in all relevant skills associated with each course.
  • Enhance student competencies to ensure they are prepared to deliver safe and effective patient care within their defined scope of practice.
  • Comply with all preceptorship requirements, if applicable.
  • Provide academic support and informal guidance to students as necessary.
  • Consult with academic administrators regarding student attendance and academic concerns.
  • Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and instructional gatherings as required.
  • Serve as a professional role model for students and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Administer patient care in accordance with state regulations and institutional protocols.
  • Exhibit proficient clinical skills based on evidence-based practices.
  • Regularly evaluate the quality of learning experiences offered by the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, exhibit a warm demeanor, and uphold a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Capable of working independently while demonstrating accuracy, efficiency, and organization.
  • Occasional physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to or above 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Function without the influence of prescribed or unprescribed substances.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess at least an associate degree in nursing.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse or two (2) years of experience as faculty in a nursing or allied health program.
  • Demonstrate intermediate computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Maintain current AHA CPR certification and immunization records for TB, flu, and COVID.
  • Hold an unencumbered and active state nursing license.

COMPENSATION

The compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Please note that this figure represents the base salary and does not encompass other elements of the total rewards package. Your overall compensation will be influenced by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, potentially resulting in total compensation outside of this range.
