The Registered Dietitian plays a crucial role in therapeutic diet education and counseling, patient engagement, and nutritional support services.
This position is vital for maintaining patient satisfaction, ensuring quality care, adhering to regulatory standards, and fostering positive public relations through the efficient use of resources.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to handle responsibilities and authority effectively, maintain composure under pressure, and accept constructive feedback.
A courteous and professional demeanor is essential when interacting with patients, visitors, medical personnel, and other staff members.

Clinical judgment and professional skills must be applied to a diverse patient population across all age groups.

All duties performed must align with the policies and procedures of Singing River Health System, as well as relevant accreditation standards and healthcare guidelines.


Education:


A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, with coursework recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or eligibility to take the registration examination (must pass within 6 months of hire); licensed as a Dietitian in the State of Mississippi; credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Continuing professional education is required to maintain all certifications and registrations.



Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare environment.

Must be capable of remaining active for extended periods without undue fatigue and adapt to changes in schedule as needed.
