DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure accurate recording and posting of all cash transactions, limiting 'unknown' postings to a maximum of two weeks.
- Completely eliminate the MISC and OTHER accounts, reclassifying current balances to their appropriate categories. Responsible for monitoring the future non-use of these accounts.
- Prepare all bank reconciliations with zero discrepancies in a timely manner, completing them within ten business days of receiving bank statements, and submit for review and approval by both the CFO and Controller.
- Ensure no outstanding checks are older than ten months.
- Monitor and resolve outstanding checks older than one year, reporting amounts to 'NYS unclaimed Funds'.
- Daily review of the book balance in QuickBooks to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with the CFO to enhance the Cash-flow report projecting cash for a two-week period.
- Propose improvements to fiscal processes for discussion with the Controller and CFO.
- Assist in the monthly closing of books, including journal entry preparation.
- Contribute to the financial package compiled for the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for various funding sources.
- Manage deposits and related entries in QuickBooks.
- Reconcile due to/from affiliate accounts monthly to ensure zero differences.
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll for two organizations (ILI and IHC).
- Update payroll and accounting databases as necessary.
- Generate various reports related to payroll deductions and ensure timely payments.
- Prepare quarterly worksite and disability reports.
- Compile monthly reports for program managers/directors.
- Create detailed instructions for current tasks and assist in cross-training fiscal staff.
- Support special projects as required.
- Address other fiscal matters as necessary to maintain the agency's financial integrity.
SHIFT:
- Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility based on agency needs.
PAY RATE:
- $60,000 to $65,000 per year.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, with 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Associate's degree in accounting with comparable experience will also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience with QuickBooks and ADP is required.
- Good analytical skills.
