Position Overview:

The Plant Financial Controller serves as a vital business partner and member of the plant leadership team in a complex manufacturing environment. This role encompasses overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting within the plant. The Controller will provide guidance and support to management in financial decision-making related to production, procurement, and investment strategies. This position requires a blend of hands-on financial management and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer financial guidance and support to the plant manager and core management team on budgeting, financial planning, and investment activities.
  • Lead the tracking of costs and operational metrics, including plant incentive plan KPIs.
  • Drive initiatives for cost and revenue enhancement while supporting operational and financial improvement projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial management reports, including monthly financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Prepare and present financial materials for plant financial reviews and other necessary meetings.
  • Foster a culture of strong internal controls and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Review and prepare plant capital expenditure requests.
  • Act as the primary contact for audits, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Monitor inventory movements to identify and address potential financial risks.
  • Ensure fair presentation and valuation of all assets and liabilities on the balance sheet.
  • Engage proactively in plant operations through meetings and interactions with staff.
  • Participate in profitability improvement projects and finance process enhancements as needed.
  • Manage direct reports, focusing on their selection, development, and performance management.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting.
  • Preferred: Master's degree and/or CMA/CPA certification.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in finance-related roles.
  • Experience as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP/MRP systems, with SAP R/3 experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and monthly closing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of economic and accounting principles and financial data analysis.
  • Understanding of strategic planning and resource allocation principles.
