Job Objective: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all financial and accounting functions of the oneworld Management Company (oMC). This position requires a methodical approach to daily operations and strategic responsibilities, including financial analysis for business cases. The ideal candidate is a disciplined self-starter who excels in cross-functional collaboration and is responsible for:

  • Ensuring robust internal controls across all financial processes
  • Managing core accounting functions and financial reporting for oMC
  • Executing operational accounting tasks, including accounts payable, payroll, and collections
  • Providing financial insights and analysis to various departments

Key Accountabilities:

Core Accounting and Financial Management:

  • Develop and maintain internal controls in partnership with the Director of Finance, including documentation and testing of key controls
  • Conduct monthly accounting close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepare management and financial reports, including profit and loss statements and cash flow analyses
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accuracy in budgeting and forecasting, while identifying financial risks and opportunities
  • Serve as the primary contact for audit processes, including annual financial statement audits
  • Oversee tax provision accounting and assist in preparing tax returns
  • Compile the annual financial report for the company
  • Ensure compliance with finance and tax regulations across all jurisdictions

Accounting Operations:

  • Prepare airline billings through the IATA clearing house
  • Review and process purchase requisitions and invoices
  • Manage payment runs, payroll, and cash flow reporting
  • Conduct periodic audits of the company's IT asset register

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis for strategic initiatives
  • Support the oneworld Audit Committee by preparing meeting materials
  • Assist in the preparation of board materials related to finance and budget updates
  • Facilitate supplier and contract reviews to track renewal deadlines
  • Perform industry analysis to provide insights to management
  • Contribute to the development and management of the company's risk assessment framework
  • Address other ad-hoc requirements as necessary

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • CPA designation is highly regarded
  • Strong analytical skills are essential
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex issues
  • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is necessary
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics 365 is advantageous
  • Ability to understand and implement an internal control framework
  • Familiarity with financial metrics for strategic decision-making
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated with a disciplined approach to achieving results
  • Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex concepts
  • Experience in international markets is a plus
