Job Overview

Omitron, Inc. is seeking a full-time SDA Metrics Analysis Technical Lead. This role is pivotal in overseeing the development of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Metrics and conducting Space Surveillance Performance Analysis. The successful candidate will provide leadership and analytical support to various military and defense organizations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers and analysts, providing technical direction on diverse projects.
  • Coordinate efforts to develop solutions that meet reporting and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to define requirements, articulate solutions, and establish testing methodologies.
  • Conduct software troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Design and implement new performance metrics and associated processing code.
  • Enhance existing metrics and code based on evolving customer needs.
  • Support the creation, testing, and delivery of data products and operational tools using programming languages such as Matlab.
  • Perform analyses related to Space Surveillance Network (SSN) performance and SDA topics.
  • Verify the analytical methods and results produced by team members.
  • Prepare technical presentations and documentation detailing methodologies and findings.
  • Oversee the production of metrics reports related to space catalog performance and sensor accuracy.
  • Guide the team in developing annual reports that highlight trends and root causes.
  • Create scripts or tools for capturing new metrics and improving data processing efficiency.
  • Lead analyses on SSN and related SDA topics.
  • Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Required Security Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Matlab programming.
  • Understanding of SSN sensors, particularly in relation to space object tracking and calibration.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and probability.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, Perl, Shell/Bash, Java, AWK, SQL, Fortran, or C/C++.
  • Familiarity with CAVENet and its applications in SSN sensor tasking.
  • Understanding of orbital analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with various organizations across government and private sectors.
  • Capability to defend team methodologies and results based on practical and academic experiences.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000, depending on experience and other factors.
