Position: Inpatient Nurse at UCLA Health

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become an integral part of a prestigious healthcare institution and contribute to the provision of Magnet recognized nursing excellence at UCLA Health.
  • Deliver evidence-based inpatient care across medical, surgical, telemetry, and stepdown levels for patients admitted from the Emergency Department.
  • Enhance the inpatient care plan in collaboration with the admitting team, case management, and the Emergency Department Charge Nurse.
  • Evaluate the learning needs of patients, families, and staff, provide clinical education, and foster effective working relationships.
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary team to create and execute a comprehensive care plan, including detailed care instructions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a valid California RN license is mandatory.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN or MSN degree is essential.
  • Submission of official transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program is required upon hiring.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are necessary.
  • A minimum of one year of direct patient care experience in a telemetry or med-surg/telemetry environment is required.
  • Capability to manage multiple patients in an Overflow Unit with rapid patient turnover is essential.
  • Clinical expertise relevant to medical, surgical, telemetry, neuro, and geriatric nursing is expected.
  • Proficiency in implementing appropriate nursing interventions consistently is necessary.
  • Ability to conduct thorough historical, physical, and behavioral assessments of patients is required.
  • Skill in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while actively involving patients, families, and staff is crucial.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
