The primary responsibility of the team member is to ensure the delivery of an exceptional patient experience across all dimensions, consistently, while contributing to the health system's vision of fulfilling that commitment to patients and their families.

The Senior Communications Strategist offers strategic communication guidance to all leaders and team members to meet organizational objectives.

This role involves developing and driving the organizational communication strategy and conducting research to identify the most effective communication methods for the organization. The team member will implement internal communication initiatives and manage various internal communication platforms. They will propose innovative communication solutions across Novant Health and consult on, create, and evaluate communication plans for strategic initiatives.

It is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of Novant Health as a whole and to recognize the interconnections among its diverse systems and processes.


Qualifications:

Education:
A Bachelor's Degree is required (preferably in English, Journalism, Organizational Communication, or Organizational Development).

Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in journalism or organizational communication is required.

Licensure/Certification:
None

Additional Skills/Requirements (required):

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities. Expertise in internal communication strategies and tactics. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. Must demonstrate outstanding organizational and planning capabilities. Superior project management and time management skills. A high degree of creativity, independence, and self-motivation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite:
Must be skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential. Ability to travel to various locations as required.
