Job Summary

Sun East Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled Business Relationship Manager to join our Lending Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for acquiring and retaining a portfolio of commercial credit union clients. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of small business and consumer loan policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough creditworthiness assessments of commercial loan applications and renewals.
  • Collaborate with MBFS to process and support credit requests within approved loan policies.
  • Prepare and present written Credit Memorandums for approval.
  • Analyze financial statements, historical trends, and projections to evaluate business viability.
  • Oversee and review reports, including credit, environmental, and property evaluations.
  • Follow up on financial reviews required for Business Loans.
  • Perform various departmental functions, including loan covenant monitoring, risk rating, and audit preparation.
  • Develop and implement programs to build an ongoing small business services department.
  • Work with the Marketing department to create a viable marketing plan and monitor its effectiveness.
  • Meet established loan and relationship goals.
  • Communicate and champion the Business Lending program across the organization.
  • Market and represent the credit union to the local small business market to build awareness and credibility.
  • Develop and monitor relationships with branch management to drive new business growth.
  • Administer loan portfolios, business deposit accounts, and required loan documentation.
  • Participate in local organizations to gain new business and create Credit Union awareness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or 5-8 years of experience in business lending or financial sales.
  • Knowledge of small business and consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates, and required documentation.
  • Excellent communication and PR skills, with the ability to analyze business financial statements and assess business viability.
  • Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
