Job Title: Front Services Attendant

As a valued member of our team, the Front Services Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring that every guest's experience at Halekulani Hotel is exceptional. This role requires a warm and welcoming demeanor, with a focus on providing prompt and personalized assistance to guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming guests and patrons with a smile, providing a positive first impression of the hotel.
  • Reviewing the communication board and front services supervisor to stay up-to-date on daily business and activities.
  • Maintaining accurate knowledge of scheduled functions within the hotel to direct guests to the correct locations.
  • Anticipating guests' needs and responding promptly to their requests.
  • Responding to guest requests via the HotSOS application.
  • Resolving complaints and maintaining positive guest relations.
  • Working closely with other departments to provide personalized guest experience opportunities.
  • Providing accurate information and direction on local attractions, entertainment, and facilities within or outside the property.
  • Remaining in assigned posts and maintaining the appearance of porte cochere, lobby areas, luggage holding rooms, and porter desks.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work-related areas.
  • Answering the phone in a courteous and professional manner within 2 rings.
  • Providing valet services, including greeting guests, explaining parking options, reviewing vehicles for damage, creating/verifying claim tickets, and storing vehicle keys.
  • Driving and parking guest vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
  • Retrieving guest vehicles as requested and/or in the order of departure.
  • Assisting with luggage handling, storing guest luggage upon request, and loading/unloading baggage into and out of vehicles.
  • Transporting guest luggage from arrival to room assignment, room changes, and departure.
  • Correctly tagging, storing, and retrieving luggage from storage rooms.
  • Organizing and delivering luggage for tour groups.
  • Assisting guests with long-term luggage storage requests and left luggage requests.
  • Explaining features of the room, including operation of electronic devices and entertainment systems.
  • Delivering items to guest rooms promptly, including messages, mail, faxes, packages, flowers, and sundry items.
  • Reporting any security or safety concerns, problems, or potential security issues to the front services supervisor and/or front services manager immediately.
  • Ensuring all guest experiences with front services are memorable, unique, and meet the hotel's standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational certification desired.
  • At least six months of hospitality experience in a luxury property preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellent guest/customer service skills.
  • Experience with property management systems helpful.
  • Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.
Physical Demands:
  • Continuously standing at the porter's desk, with frequent walking, running, bending, and stooping.
  • Frequently pushing and pulling up to 110 pounds, lifting up to 50 pounds, and carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Continuously using visual and hearing skills.
  • Must be physically able to access all work areas and perform all tasks and services required to fully perform the requirements of the job.
  • Requires working under deadlines and pressure, dealing with difficult people or situations involving customer service issues, and establishing and maintaining cooperative and productive work relationships.
  • Must have an outgoing, positive attitude in dealing with guests, management, and employees.
