Job Summary

The Kahala Hotel and Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Front Office Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Front Office Operations team, you will be responsible for promoting and fostering our hotel's philosophy of Aloha, while ensuring seamless daily operations of the Front Desk, Front Service, PBX, Concierge, Pool & Beach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Room Assignments and Coordination: Coordinate room assignments, check daily room assignments, and coordinate group movements with specific reference to check-in and check-out.
  • Front Office Department Management: Train, supervise, schedule, and complete payroll for the front office department. Perform disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Procedure Coordination: Coordinate procedures for all new packages or promotions with the Sales and Marketing, Accounting, Information Systems, and all other departments involved.
  • Guest Services: Assist in the check-in, escort, and check-out process as necessary. Conduct daily briefings and address immediate issues in relation to our guest's services.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Ensure that the SOP manuals are continuously updated, maintained, and used effectively.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Cooperate and coordinate teamwork with other departments. Verify credit card authorizations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required. College degree in hotel management or similar field preferred. Minimum one (1) to two (2) year supervisory experience.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a first-class, medium to large resort desired. Three (3) years of experience in front office operations desired.
  • Licenses and Certifications: CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred. Must hold current Manager Liquor card.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to travel throughout the Resort while performing essential job functions. Ability to stand/walk/sit throughout the day. Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 pounds, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work varying shifts and maintain attendance in accordance with the hotel's attendance policy. Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department. Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
