We are seeking a skilled Section 179D Energy Modeler to enhance our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team. In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in the growth of our Energy Practice. Our group combines knowledge in taxation, accounting, construction estimation, and energy modeling to provide significant tax advantages to real estate stakeholders.

As an energy modeler, your primary objective will be to leverage specialized software to develop energy models for commercial properties and evaluate their efficiency against industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate potential projects to assess eligibility for energy efficiency tax incentives
  • Conduct energy simulations for building operations utilizing standard software
  • Convert architectural data into 3D representations for existing structures
  • Investigate building science, particularly the interaction of HVAC, electrical, and building envelope systems
  • Perform on-site assessments and property evaluations
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently
  • Assist with additional construction and real estate tax incentive programs
  • Keep clients updated on project developments
  • Identify and resolve technical issues
  • Uphold the highest professional standards and maintain client confidentiality

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, ideally in engineering, construction management, or accounting
  • Previous experience with energy modeling software is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Tax Code Section 179D energy modeling is beneficial
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 20%)

Washington State - $62,000 - $86,000
California State - $67,000 - $98,000
Colorado State - $62,000 - $82,000
