We also broker secondary market works between collectors, achieving over $100 million in annual sales.

We are seeking a seasoned sales professional with expertise in Post-War and Contemporary Art to join our Private Sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of sourcing and selling blue-chip contemporary artworks, with a passion for art and a data-driven approach to deal-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with collectors, dealers, art advisors, and auction specialists
  • Collaborate with the Private Sales team to sell works through advisors and directly to collectors
  • Lead primary client coverage for a group of elite and emerging collectors
  • Develop and maintain collector buy lists to inform acquisitions and Private Sales
  • Gather market intelligence on upcoming catalysts for individual artist markets
  • Conduct due diligence on buyers and/or intermediaries
  • Analyze a work's current and future market potential
  • Proactively generate new sales opportunities through sourcing new collector relationships and deepening existing ones
  • Attend art fairs, collector dinners, and exhibitions to generate new business
  • Collaborate with the Acquisitions team in pricing sessions and artist market analysis
  • Host clients for viewings
  • Coordinate with other departments to support sales strategies
What You'll Achieve in the First Few Months:
  • Get up to speed on Level & Co. sales criteria, process, and the Masterworks collection
  • Lead relationship management of emerging collectors across the USA
  • Source private sales opportunities for existing works on the Masterworks platform
  • Engage in regular client development meetings with the Private Sales team
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in a specialist role at a leading gallery or auction house or as an independent dealer
  • Expertise in Post-War and Contemporary Art at $1mm+ price points
  • Experience with negotiations and multitasking
  • Team player with a proactive, highly organized, and attentive to detail approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in at least one other language is preferred
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally
