About the Role:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Leisure Services Program Coordinator to join our team at Link Associates. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing therapeutic recreation activities that promote independence and community integration for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate in-house leisure day program activities, including attendance records, transportation, and billing documentation to ensure positive outcomes and goal achievement for participants.
  • Develop and implement community-based leisure activities on a daily basis, processing registrations, attendance records, and supervising leisure activities to ensure positive participant outcomes and goal achievement.
  • Provide transportation services as needed.
  • Assist in training direct support professionals to facilitate established leisure programs.
  • Contribute to the orientation, training, and scheduling of employees, volunteers, and interns.
  • Evaluate leisure services programs, compiling, recording, and reviewing leisure evaluations.
  • Represent Link Associates to internal and external stakeholders, participants, and the community in a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field required, with a minimum of two years of related work experience preferred.
  • NCTRC certification or completion within six months is required.
  • Exceptions must receive prior approval from the Executive Director.
  • Must meet agency policy on transportation and background checks.
  • Possess the ability to work on a daily basis utilizing standard office, home, and recreational equipment.
  • Proven proficiency in implementing agency rules and procedures, using verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, human relations skills, team working skills, and organizational skills.
  • The position requires medium physical work, consisting of occasional 2-hand lifting from floor to waist of up to fifty pounds and occasional 2-hand push/pull of up to sixty pounds of force.

Our services support full integration into the greater Des Moines community, offering residential, day habilitation, community employment, transportation, case management, and leisure services that meet the full spectrum of life-long needs and family support.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
