Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Therapeutic Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team at Link Associates. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities and make a meaningful impact in their lives.

About the Role

The Therapeutic Recreation Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating therapeutic recreation activities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This will include creating engaging programs, supervising leisure activities, and ensuring positive outcomes for participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate in-house leisure day program activities, including attendance records, transportation, and billing documentation.
  • Organize and implement community-based leisure activities on a daily basis, processing registrations, attendance records, and supervising leisure activities.
  • Coordinate and provide transportation services as needed.
  • Assist in training direct support professionals to facilitate established leisure programs.
  • Contribute to evaluating leisure services programs, compiling, recording, and reviewing leisure evaluations.
  • Represent Link Associates professionally to internal and external stakeholders, participants, and the community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field, with a minimum of two years of related experience preferred.
  • NCTRC certification or completion within six months.
  • Possess excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, human relation skills, team working skills, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet agency policy on transportation and background checks.
  • Willingness to occasionally climb stairs without railings and sit occasionally.
