As a pivotal part of our organization, the Lead Manager, Sales Compensation will oversee a dedicated team responsible for the accurate and timely administration of sales commission payments across our global sales force.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in commission calculations and familiarity with key Incentive Compensation Tools such as Xactly or Varicent.
This role will collaborate closely with sales leadership to ensure commission payments align with established sales strategies.
Additionally, the position will manage project responsibilities related to annual plan design modifications and cost modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise monthly commission calculations and verify payment accuracy, including bonuses, spiffs, guarantees, and other incentive programs.
- Oversee all facets of the company’s sales incentive plans, including configuration in Xactly and modeling in Excel.
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Establish and maintain all personnel records in Xactly, collaborating with HR and Sales Operations to track updates on new hires, terminations, pay changes, role adjustments, team modifications, quota changes, guarantees, and spiff programs.
- Work in partnership with Sales Operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales billing credits each month, meeting critical commission accrual and payout deadlines.
- Address compensation-related inquiries from sales representatives and leadership.
- Prepare and maintain monthly reporting materials for leadership, including analytics related to sales compensation.
- Engage in additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in team management.
- At least seven (7) years of experience in commission calculation and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, including month-end accrual accounting, forecasting, compensation plan management, and commission calculations.
- Proficient in specialized software related to department operations, including ERP accounting systems, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Ability to efficiently manage large Excel files and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information and respond to inquiries from senior management and employees.
- Demonstrated adaptability to changing work priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff, including team members, management, and sales representatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Xactly Incent.
- Proficiency in building reports and dashboards in Xactly Analytics.
