Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Facilities/IT Technician Assistant to join our team at St. Vincent Catholic Charities. As a key member of our Technology Team, you will play a vital role in supporting staff by addressing and resolving IT inquiries, problems, and requests.

Role and ResponsibilitiesTechnology General
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service while performing agency technology duties.
  • Be a point of contact to support the IT work request process.
  • Help with the distribution of keys, creation of staff ID cards, and assigning network access.
Software Duties
  • Support agency software databases; Microsoft Office, Great Plains, and other agency utilized software systems.
  • Work with vendors to assist programs in developing reports as needed.
  • Respond to staff inquiries regarding usage of various program software.
  • Test software applications and systems.
  • Construct, deploy, and maintain general computer application software or specialized utility programs.
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades.
Hardware/Security Duties
  • Maintain agency computer inventory and all other technology equipment.
  • Set up and maintain employee, intern, and volunteer workstations.
  • Provide campus technical security, video, and building access systems, including employee badge activation and key assignments.
  • Maintain comprehensive record keeping of security requests.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Network (LAN) and other systems.
  • Administer Office/Microsoft 365; information storage systems and software, Microsoft server/network systems for the entire Agency.
  • Add, maintain, and delete users in Active Directory; email, network, and security.
  • Ensure the remote backup of Agency's network data is performing and is maintained properly.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software installation, security updates, and patches.
  • Administer MiTel Phone system, adding removing new extensions & voicemail boxes, troubleshooting phone issues.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the Technology Team to coordinate the development of agency technology.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings, conferences, in-services, and other trainings deemed appropriate.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Technology Coordinator.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

We require an Associate's Degree or working toward a degree in a related field. Familiarity with networked systems and Microsoft products is essential. Previous experience in an IT help desk or technology support role in a business setting is preferred.

Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. A valid Michigan Driver License, access to reliable transportation, and maintaining appropriate insurance are required.

Emotionally able to work with information that may be traumatic in nature, as well as, work with individuals or families in crisis or experiencing trauma.

Ability to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per shift. Work involves talking, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

Ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal for extended periods of time.

Noise in the work environment is usually moderately quiet but can be very loud at times.

Work in an environment with various degrees of discomfort.

Driving as needed throughout the day.
