The primary objective of the Educational Support Specialist is to elevate the academic success of all learners. This role involves direct collaboration with educators and student advocates/parents to foster a holistic approach to student development. We are in search of a certified educator or an individual actively pursuing certification in K-8 education, specializing in intervention strategies for MTSS in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Key responsibilities of the Educational Support Specialist include:

  1. Providing tailored academic instruction to students requiring additional support, through both individual and small group interventions.
  2. Establishing trusting, nurturing, and supportive relationships with students.
  3. Employing the MTSS framework to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding social and emotional learning, positive behavior reinforcement, and high-quality instructional practices.
  4. Collaborating with teachers and support personnel to develop and execute personalized academic intervention strategies.
  5. Utilizing technology to track and enhance student academic performance, with a focus on mathematics and/or ELA competencies.
  6. Conducting assessments at least three times a year, including but not limited to NWEA MAP Growth, running records, CORE phonics survey, PAST screener, AIMS WEB Plus, etc.
  7. Working alongside educators to deliver consistent, intensive, and targeted support for students.
  8. Completing Individualized Reading Improvement Plans (IRIPs) for K-3 students exhibiting reading challenges.
  9. Executing additional responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
