Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Technical Trainer Overview:

  • We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Instructor to join our Aegis International Programs team, responsible for delivering training both in classroom settings and at operational sites.
  • This role involves collaborating with a team of instructors and developers to provide high-quality instruction and update training materials for our international clients, ensuring effective schoolhouse and shipboard training.
  • Contribute to the creation of innovative training resources, update existing curricula, and assist in the development of simulation tools and virtual training programs.
  • Conduct formal training sessions for both internal and external stakeholders, perform evaluations of instructors, and prepare comprehensive training reports.
  • This position is based in Dahlgren, VA, with opportunities for travel to support our international clients in various countries.
  • US Citizenship is mandatory for this role.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be certified as a Navy Instructor with the relevant Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) code, possess prior instructional experience with documented certification, or hold a Bachelor's degree in education.
  • Completion of the US Navy Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Operation and Maintenance (O&M) course is required.
  • Experience in Aegis Weapon System maintenance and operational experience in Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), including at least two shipboard assignments and one instructional role.
  • Ability to articulate technical and operational concepts related to the Aegis Weapon System and Aegis Combat System.
  • Strong communication skills with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • US Citizenship is required, and candidates must possess a final DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to commencing employment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master Training Specialist Certification
  • Experience with USN Aegis Baseline 9 operations
  • Experience with USN BMD 5 operations
  • Qualified as a Combat Systems Coordinator (CSC) watchstander
  • Experience with Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) operations and/or maintenance

Security Clearance Requirement:
This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be US Citizens to be considered.

Clearance Level:
Secret

  • This position requires on-site work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Lockheed Martin offers a variety of flexible work schedules to accommodate employees, ranging from standard 40-hour work weeks to condensed schedules that provide additional time off.
  • Work Schedule for this Position: Nonstandard 40-hour work week as determined by leadership.
