Role Overview:
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Program Division is in search of a highly skilled and operationally focused Lead Software Engineer with substantial experience in DevSecOps. This role is pivotal in contributing to an enterprise transformation initiative for our Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense sponsor.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement software applications and systems.
2. Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
3. Leverage software engineering expertise to oversee the creation of efficient and scalable software solutions.
4. Ensure software quality through rigorous code reviews, testing, and debugging processes.
5. Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in software engineering to enhance product performance and functionality.
6. Lead a team of software engineers to deliver impactful solutions in the software engineering domain.
Collaboration and Guidance:
Work collaboratively across the organization, engaging with academia, industry, and government entities to develop optimal solutions for our sponsors. Assist in guiding the sponsor's technical investments and initiatives, ensuring alignment with their strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Software Architecture and DevSecOps/DevOps.
- Ability to define complex projects through established frameworks and methodologies.
Preferred:
- Experience in Software Architecture, DevOps/DevSecOps, or Aegis Weapon Systems.
- Proven track record of leading technical teams to achieve positive outcomes for sponsors.
Work Environment:
This position requires an onsite presence, fostering collaboration and innovation within our teams.
