Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Family Services Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Family Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support and services to families and individuals in need, while working closely with our team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply laws, policies, and regulations related to social services.
  • Monitor and coordinate specific programs, including child protective services, foster care, and employment services.
  • Interview and assess customer needs, and provide case management services to monitor compliance.
  • Track expenditures, prepare and submit budget estimates, and ensure payment for services.
  • Complete necessary federal, state, and local planning and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with other agencies and participate in multi-disciplinary and interagency teams providing services to customers.
  • Conduct overall monitoring of programs and serve as a resource to clients and the community.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or a related field, or a minimum of two years of experience in a human services-related area. Preferred qualifications include experience writing court documents, interviewing individuals, and working in child welfare.
