Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Encounter Management:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
  • Collaborate with referring providers and practices to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and compile patient and staff schedules to ensure efficient operations.
  • Schedule patients and support the patient encounter process.

Check In / Check Out:
  • Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors with a warm and welcoming smile.
  • Monitor daily schedules and coordinate flow with clinicians and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing accurate records in hospital systems.
  • Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling to ensure timely and effective support.

Administrative:
  • Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services as needed.
  • Provide routine clerical support as needed, including administrative tasks and data entry.
  • Support Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers with administrative tasks and record-keeping.
  • Reconcile patient charts during admissions and discharges, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Update and reconcile the Patient Monitoring System upon admission, discharge, and transfer.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, you must have:
  • A high school level of education, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior customer service or administrative experience, with a focus on patient-facing roles.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with empathy and compassion in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
