The Cortex Sustainability Intelligence team collaborates closely with our clients to establish desired outcomes and deliver value through the utilization of our advanced building analytics software. As we expand, we are seeking a Technical Energy Advisor who embodies a customer-centric approach and recognizes the importance of nurturing relationships to achieve business objectives. In this role, you will interact with key stakeholders to enhance product utilization and ensure client satisfaction. You will partner with our Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to oversee client relationships and provide assistance with the technical aspects of our offerings. A background in engineering, property management, commercial buildings, or real estate technology is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Support:

  • Deliver technical assistance to Cortex clients post-sale, leveraging strong relationships and in-depth product knowledge to guarantee client success.
  • Promote product utilization through direct engagement with clients and their service providers, including chief building engineers, maintenance personnel, facilities managers, and engineering firms.
  • Guide users on effective software application while identifying opportunities to utilize the software to address technical challenges in commercial properties.
Education & Innovation:
  • Act as a subject matter expert for both external clients and internal teams.
  • Utilize your expertise and customer insights to inform Cortex's product development strategy.
  • Educate clients on industry best practices and methods to enhance building operations while minimizing environmental impact.
Onboarding & Results:
  • Facilitate and support the customer onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Integrations team to connect our software with clients' building management systems (BMS), utility meters, and other relevant technologies.
  • Gather essential information and data from clients to inform product integration and delivery.
  • Provide insights and reports to key stakeholders to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of our solutions.
Technical Sales:
  • Conduct technical assessments of potential client facilities to evaluate the compatibility of Cortex solutions.
  • Support the Sales team in addressing technical inquiries from prospective clients and articulating the overall value of the Cortex platform.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in client-facing roles managing multiple accounts.
  • Technical proficiency in areas such as building mechanical systems, energy management, or carbon management.
  • General understanding of commercial office environments, property management, or facility management.
  • Willingness to travel to engage with current and prospective clients (up to 25% travel).
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in environmental sustainability within the commercial real estate sector.
  • Background in technical support and sales.
  • Experience with SaaS business models or high-growth startups.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation.
