Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly proficient and self-driven Senior Energy Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative team. This position demands an independent professional who excels with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, operate semi-autonomously, and demonstrate effective communication abilities, engaging directly with senior client stakeholders regularly.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Robust technical engineering foundation.
- Experience with central plants (chillers, boilers) and distributed air handling systems.
- Expertise in BAS/BMS/SCADA automation systems.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- Note: Candidates lacking BAS/BMS experience will not be considered if their background is solely in electrification, VRF, heat pumps, solar, wind, or geothermal.
Preferred Building Automation Systems Knowledge:
(e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, ALC, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough energy analyses, applying technical expertise to provide timely and effective solutions.
- Consistently meet or surpass project deadlines.
- Delegate tasks efficiently to junior team members.
- Act as a 'value visionary,' identifying client needs from limited information and formulating a strategic roadmap to achieve their objectives with minimal guidance.
- Maintain clear, concise, and logical communication.
- Collaborate effectively with subcontractors and other project stakeholders to implement energy projects.
Core Requirements:
- Proficiency in energy modeling software and spreadsheet analysis.
- Strong grasp of energy economics.
- Excellent client communication and management capabilities.
- Familiarity with energy audit and retro-commissioning processes.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of NY/NJ utility incentive programs.
- Strong project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Understanding of energy project finance and funding methodologies.
