Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Certified Aviation Instructor, you will deliver comprehensive flight, simulator, and ground training in alignment with FAA and PEA guidelines. Your role will involve maintaining accurate records and ensuring that all training standards and objectives are achieved for each student.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct flight instruction as permitted by Federal Aviation regulations, adhering to the approved syllabi.
  • Ensure students comprehend and apply all elements of PEA's training protocols, particularly regarding safety standards.
  • Organize and schedule training sessions for each student to facilitate timely progress through their respective courses, promptly notifying supervisors of any training delays or performance issues.
  • Maintain precise documentation, including student training records and logbooks.
  • Guarantee that all course standards and training objectives are fulfilled as outlined in the relevant Course Syllabus.
  • Initiate stage checks and End-of-Course evaluations for students, ensuring their timely completion of flight training.
  • Monitor the condition of training aircraft and report any maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Propose enhancements to curriculum and training materials when necessary.
  • Complete incident reports to document any safety violations or situations that could jeopardize flight safety.
  • Participate in administrative meetings, standardization sessions, in-service training, and instructor development initiatives as required.
  • Contribute to special projects, including updates to the PEA FS manual and participation in workshops and FAA meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor, Airplane Single-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane.
  • Proficient piloting skills with the ability to execute required flight maneuvers and procedures.
  • Understanding of effective instructional techniques applicable in both classroom and flight settings.
  • Familiarity with relevant Federal Aviation Regulations and Company Policies.
  • Capability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic and noisy environment while exercising sound judgment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, and climb. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position with flexible days and shifts based on operational needs.

Education and Experience

  • Valid CFI & CFII Certificate.
  • Current FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
