Position Overview

Skyborne Opportunity

We are seeking experienced and proficient Training Leaders with a background in A&P Mechanics and Quality Assurance Inspections. As an FAA Repair Station, we maintain a fleet of fifty-four Piper training aircraft. We currently have openings in our Quality Assurance Department for a Training Leader and Aircraft Inspectors.

The Training Leader will oversee the foundational training of all new aircraft technicians, provide ongoing training (On-the-Job Training), facilitate Inspector training, and ensure proper documentation of completed training. This role includes maintaining departmental training records in accordance with company standards. Additionally, this individual will step in for Quality Assurance Inspectors as needed to address staffing shortages due to absences.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate initial and ongoing professional development training for all Repair Station personnel, focusing on accepted maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Educate employees on current company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assess organizational training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Identify training requirements and recommend relevant programs and activities.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain work-related training programs to enhance individual skills and organizational performance.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Inspector to enhance employee training initiatives.
  • Create training schedules and ensure all training records are organized according to proper management systems.
  • Plan training sessions, conduct follow-ups, and complete evaluations.
  • Ensure that personnel in the Maintenance Department consistently uphold quality workmanship.
  • Understand FAA Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Skyborne Safety Management Systems (SMS) Programs.
Additional Duties:
  • Engage in Repair Station Training meetings and activities, promoting a culture of safety and reporting all aviation safety-related issues through the feedback system.
  • Interact with Instructors and Trainees.
  • Travel aboard company aircraft or vehicles to support repair work at locations outside of Repair Station Facilities.
  • Support Skyborne Airline Academy and its subsidiaries' commitment to ethical practices by prioritizing lawful and ethical conduct in all operations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Center Director, Head of Aircraft Maintenance, Quality Assurance Manager, or Chief Inspector.
Qualifications:

Professional Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic (Inspection Authorization is a plus).
  • Experience in General Aviation, including 100-hour and annual inspections, sheet metal repairs, troubleshooting systems, and parts replacement is preferred.
  • Experience in Commercial or Corporate Part 145 FAA Repair Station or MRO Quality Assurance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to focus and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong safety orientation, even in challenging situations.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • All candidates must pass a drug screening and background check, including TSA background check and badging as a condition of employment.
Training Will Include:
  • Repair Station Training and Inspector responsibilities.
  • Maintenance administration software (AcMP).
  • Squawk crew procedure training.
  • Assessment of troubleshooting and listening skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer orientation under challenging circumstances.
