Job Summary:
The Staffing Office at SUNY Upstate Medical University is responsible for day-to-day scheduling and staffing operations for designated units and departments.

The Staffing Office Specialist provides daily staffing functions and administrative support related to staffing and position control for designated units/departments.

This role ensures accurate use of organizational policies and procedures as well as maintains best practice standards established by the department.

Critical thinking, collaboration, high attention to detail, and the ability to function under pressure with a focus on caring customer service is essential.

The ability to work independently while exercising high-quality judgment in maintaining schedules is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily staffing functions and administrative support related to staffing and position control.
  • Ensure accurate use of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain best practice standards established by the department.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:
  • Associates Degree with a minimum of three years of administrative or healthcare-related experience.
  • Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, collaboration, high attention to detail, and the ability to function under pressure with a focus on caring customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.

Work Schedule:
Dayshift, Weekends, and Holidays
