Job Title: Guest Services Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Guest Services Representative to join our team at the Seattle Aquarium. As a key member of our Guest Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all who visit our aquarium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Sell admission tickets, memberships, and other products, while also promoting our conservation efforts and educational programs.
  • Operate the Virtual Reality experience, selling tickets and assisting guests with headsets and pods.
  • Assist with crowd and line management, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our guests.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled cashier team meetings and general all-staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar ticket/admissions-based organization.
  • Six months customer service and point of sale experience.
  • Active listening and communication skills, with the ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working Conditions:

  • Sitting and standing for long periods, with occasional lifting and moving of objects.
  • Consistent keyboarding and manual dexterity required.
  • Clear diction and acute hearing necessary for effective communication with guests and coworkers.

Salary and Benefits:

$20.14 hourly, dependent on experience. Temporary staff are not eligible for benefits but accrue paid sick time and are paid an additional $0.75/hour to assist with transportation costs.
