About the Position

We are seeking a talented Director of Philanthropy and Stewardship to join our team at the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA). As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in leading our major gifts program, cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals in support of our lifesaving mission.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy, aligned with HRA's strategic goals and objectives.
  2. Manage a portfolio of prospects, identifying and cultivating new major donors, and sustaining current donors through regular communication and stewardship.
  3. Work collaboratively with senior staff members to develop and implement effective donor engagement strategies.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, and employees.
  5. Provide regular reporting and updates to the Chief Development Officer and other senior staff members.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in development, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in major gifts fundraising, with a proven track record of securing six and seven figure gifts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently, with strong self-motivation and initiative.
