Healthcare Provider Support Specialist

We are seeking a part-time (27.2 hours/week) healthcare provider support specialist for our Internal Medicine Department. This position qualifies for part-time benefits, including medical and dental insurance. No prior experience or certification as a medical assistant is required, but candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for the role.

Job Overview:
As a healthcare provider support specialist at HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater, you will engage in various patient care responsibilities and related tasks within the clinical environment. This includes documenting medical information, administering medications and vaccinations, and gathering medical histories and vital signs. The provider support specialist aids healthcare professionals in delivering timely services as directed by physicians or registered nurses, adhering to clinic policies and procedures. All activities are aligned with the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient interviews and record essential medical histories Measure vital signs and log findings in patient records Review annual wellness questionnaires with designated patients Administer vaccinations Manage messages and communicate clinician responses via phone Input orders for laboratory servicesRequired Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (certification optional) OR Current LPN (licenses required in MN and WI) OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program with a current EMT license (national and Minnesota)PLUS current CPR certification for health professionals from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience as a medical assistant or LPN in a clinical setting. Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record software.All candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; outstanding customer service abilities; tact and diplomacy in interactions with patients, families, and care team members; a capacity to demonstrate compassion and empathy in all engagements; an understanding of patient education needs, with the ability to effectively share information with patients, family members, and care team members as necessary; a capability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures; the ability to plan, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks; and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Experience with EPIC is preferred.
