Overview:
The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist plays a crucial role in patient registration and check-in processes, alongside providing essential clinical support.
This position entails working part-time on weekends from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm (both Saturday and Sunday) at our Orthopedic Urgent Care facility.
A sign-on bonus may be available, contingent upon a commitment period. Internal candidates may not qualify for this incentive.Twin Cities Orthopedics operates under Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a network of local medical practices led by physicians, dedicated to empowering patients in managing their healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and register patients; collect co-payments, pre-payments, insurance details, and identification.
- Verify and document insurance information in accordance with established business practices.
- Schedule appointments for new and existing patients accurately and promptly using the current practice management system.
- Provide patients with all necessary information, including appointment details, directions, check-in times, referral information, and co-payments.
- Prepare and manage patient charts.
- Maintain a solid understanding of healthcare plan requirements and networks.
- Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and staff.
- Assist in various clinic areas as required.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience in Customer Service is essential.
- Administrative or Medical Office experience is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Complete all required training.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.).
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Work effectively in the clinic during operational hours.
- Navigate independently throughout the clinic, which may involve moving between floors; frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or prolonged sitting may be necessary.
- Maintain a productive pace, manage interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.- Communicate and interact professionally and respectfully.
- Prioritize tasks while remaining adaptable to the demands of daily operations.
- Apply logical reasoning to identify problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
- Operate equipment effectively and manage phone communications.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Travel to other work locations, if necessary.
