Job Overview

Position Summary

The Installation Project Manager is accountable to the Project Management Supervisor. This role demands a high level of expertise across various technical and digital fields, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, effective scheduling capabilities, and a solid grasp of construction principles. The individual in this position is expected to leverage their skills extensively within the operational framework of Watchfire. This is an exempt role, not eligible for overtime compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation projects ensuring adherence to established scope and budget constraints.
  • Assess workforce deployment, equipment needs, workflow processes, necessary permits, and job site configurations.
  • Engage with clients or their representatives to communicate job site details and confirm successful project completions.
  • Collaborate with installers and contractors to clarify project goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Watchfire sales teams and subject matter experts to validate or clarify Watchfire's capabilities concerning special order inquiries.
  • Work closely with internal teams and specialists to identify optimal strategies and methodologies to meet project goals, timelines, and financial plans.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, which may include electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, as well as sourcing, materials management, sales management, and production personnel.
  • Partner with Project Estimators, Sales, and Marketing to deliver professional, comprehensive, and precise bids.
  • Document project workflows, including flowcharts, operational guidelines, technical specifications, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Interpret and communicate product and project drawings, technical details, and specifications effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor, update, and share accurate project forecasts and timelines with the Project Management Supervisor.
  • Participate in ongoing training on relevant topics and stay updated on industry standards and practices.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching in confined job site areas. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel for job site evaluations and contractor discussions may be necessary.
  • Standard working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday. Note: Travel and tight deadlines may necessitate additional hours outside of this schedule.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on collaboration across teams.
  • Proficient in computer use, including internet navigation, smartphones/tablets, Autodesk software (Inventor, Vault), Salesforce/CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an engineering mindset being advantageous.

Education and Licensing Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in Project Management, Business, or Communication, or
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant project management experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • 6 CEUs in Project Management, Construction, or AIA within the last two years is beneficial.
