Position Summary
The Field Service Project Manager will direct the operational activities related to installation and field services for various projects, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This role will involve overseeing a team that includes Field Service Technicians, Installation Technicians, and a Project Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and timelines to ensure compliance with delivery expectations.
- Lead and manage the Project Management and Field Service teams to achieve project goals and align with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with department managers across various disciplines, including engineering and sales, to facilitate project execution.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout all project phases.
- Oversee assigned installation projects and manage resources effectively.
- Provide regular updates and accurate forecasts regarding project timelines to department heads.
- Allocate labor resources efficiently on a weekly basis to meet project demands.
- Coordinate with the project management team as necessary to address additional support needs.
- Train and guide team members to uphold project standardization practices.
- Participate in ongoing training to remain knowledgeable about industry standards and practices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in project management systems.
- Make daily operational decisions for the installation and service teams.
- Prepare cost reports for projects to ensure financial accountability.
- Serve as a key resource for information regarding all ongoing projects.
- Perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting and moving materials.
- Travel may be required for site visits and meetings.
- Standard working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday, with potential for additional hours as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on collaboration across teams.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Autodesk software, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and project specifications.
- Experience in leading teams with both direct and indirect reporting structures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ideally with an engineering perspective.
Education and Licensing Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in Project Management, Business, or a related field, or
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant project management experience or equivalent training.
- Completion of 6 CEUs in Project Management or related fields within the last two years is a plus.
