Job Overview

Position Summary

The Installation Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing installation projects, reporting directly to the Project Management Supervisor. This position requires advanced skills and expertise across various technical and operational disciplines, a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, effective scheduling capabilities, and a solid grasp of construction principles. This is an exempt role, not eligible for overtime compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation projects ensuring adherence to defined scope and budget constraints.
  • Assess workforce allocation, equipment usage, workflow processes, necessary permits, and job site organization.
  • Engage with clients or their representatives to communicate job site specifics and confirm successful project completions.
  • Collaborate with installers and contractors to clarify project goals and timelines.
  • Work alongside Watchfire sales teams and subject matter experts to validate or clarify Watchfire's capabilities regarding custom order requests.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and experts to identify optimal strategies and methods for achieving project goals, timelines, and financial targets.
  • Lead project teams that may include electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, as well as sourcing, materials management, sales management, and production personnel.
  • Partner with Project Estimators, Sales, and Marketing to deliver comprehensive and precise project bids.
  • Document project workflows, including flowcharts, work instructions, operating parameters, technical specifications, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Interpret and communicate product and project drawings, technical details, and specifications effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and share accurate project forecasts and timelines with the Project Management Supervisor.
  • Participate in ongoing training on relevant topics to remain informed about industry standards and practices.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching in confined job site spaces, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel may be necessary for site visits and contractor meetings.
  • Standard working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday, with potential for additional hours due to travel and project deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including internet, smartphones/tablets, Autodesk software (Inventor, Vault), Salesforce/CRM, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an engineering mindset being advantageous.

Education and Licensing Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in Project Management, Business, or Communication, or
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant project management experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 CEUs in Project Management, Construction, or AIA within the last two years is a plus.
