Vulnerability Assessment Specialist II

Position Summary:
The Penetration Tester II is responsible for executing technical evaluations, which encompass vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and social engineering tactics to uncover security vulnerabilities. Following the assessment results, this role will provide strategic recommendations for enhancements through administrative, technical, and physical measures. Additionally, this position will support incident response investigations and the documentation related to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on the organization's infrastructure, systems, and applications in alignment with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Effectively communicate identified security risks to clients and offer actionable recommendations for risk reduction.
- Perform social engineering evaluations, including phishing simulations, pretexting phone calls, and physical access attempts, while providing guidance for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with Information Security Consultants in reviewing or analyzing technical projects and troubleshooting security issues.
- Support business development efforts by assisting the Sales Team in initial scoping discussions and conducting needs assessments to identify growth opportunities within the existing client base.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives by suggesting content ideas and authoring blog posts on technical subjects, as well as participating in industry trade shows and professional meetings.
- Maintain a minimum billing requirement of 1350 hours per fiscal year, adjusted based on the start date, while balancing professional development and on-the-job training.

Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Experience can be gained through employment or demonstrated knowledge using platforms such as TryHackMe or HacktheBox.
Preferred Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience with tools such as Nessus, Metasploit, and BurpSuite.
- 2+ years of experience managing small-scale projects.
- Ability to produce executive-level reports that detail findings and recommendations.
Required Skills and Certifications:
- Certifications: eJPT, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Professional certifications such as OSCP or PNPT are highly regarded.
