About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Historian III to join our team at Impact7G, Inc. as a Cultural Resources Specialist. This is a project management role that requires a strong background in historic preservation, cultural resources management, and architectural history.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage all scopes of work for a variety of project types, including cultural resources investigations, historic resources surveys, and National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) evaluations.
  • Cultural Resources Investigations: Conduct reconnaissance-level and intensive-level architectural surveys nationwide, and prepare technical reports for Section 106 cultural resource investigations.
  • Historic Preservation: Provide NRHP eligibility evaluations, assess potential effects to historic properties, and prepare architectural descriptions and complete Architectural Survey Inventory Forms.
  • Research and Writing: Conduct archival research at local repositories, including libraries, archives, museums, and land record offices, and prepare historic contexts and NRHP nominations.
  • Team Leadership: Assist in training and career development of Architectural Historian I and II, and support departments across the organization.
Requirements
  • Education: MA/MS in Historic Preservation, City/Regional Planning, History, or a similar field of study.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Cultural Resources Management/consulting or other related industry where report preparation is a principal responsibility.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide samples of work demonstrating writing ability, historic context development, and knowledge of American Architectural History.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of AutoCad Light and GIS technology.
  • Experience: Experience in the preparation of NRHP nominations, Rehabilitation Tax Credit Applications, and Historic Preservation Plans and/or Design Guidelines.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Work Environment: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift to 15 pounds, on occasion, and work in a variety of weather conditions in outdoor environments.
