RIG Consulting Inc. is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineering Technician to join our team for ongoing Highway and bridge projects in various locations throughout Maryland. This role involves working on MDOT-SHA, highway, bridge, and related construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with SHA standards and specifications.
- Review inspection drawings and documents.
- Document daily activities and maintain project files.
- Travel to various project sites and navigate different types of terrain.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Operate electronic devices and software systems.
- Work safely around moving traffic and equipment.
- React promptly to hazard warning devices.
- Use required protective equipment and maintain its care and storage.
- Perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, twisting, and climbing.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work extended hours and be on call beyond normal business hours.
- A minimum of two years of experience in MDOT, Highway, or related transportation construction is preferred.
- A GED or high school diploma is required.
- A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- MARTCP bituminous and concrete certification.
- ACI certification.
- NICET in Highway Construction certification.
