Job Summary

RIG Consulting Inc. is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineering Technician to join our team for ongoing Highway and bridge projects in various locations throughout Maryland. This role involves working on MDOT-SHA, highway, bridge, and related construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with SHA standards and specifications.
  • Review inspection drawings and documents.
  • Document daily activities and maintain project files.
Essential Functions
  • Travel to various project sites and navigate different types of terrain.
  • Read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Operate electronic devices and software systems.
  • Work safely around moving traffic and equipment.
  • React promptly to hazard warning devices.
  • Use required protective equipment and maintain its care and storage.
  • Perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, twisting, and climbing.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work extended hours and be on call beyond normal business hours.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of experience in MDOT, Highway, or related transportation construction is preferred.
  • A GED or high school diploma is required.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
Preferred Certifications
  • MARTCP bituminous and concrete certification.
  • ACI certification.
  • NICET in Highway Construction certification.
