What We Are Looking For:

We are in search of a motivated and ambitious engineer eager to play a pivotal role throughout the lifecycle of consumable products. We seek team members with a profound understanding of equipment qualification, process validation, and cleaning/sanitizing validation. Our team desires someone who can work collaboratively across various functions, resolve challenges, and advocate for early issue resolution. This role carries significant responsibility across diverse production areas and equipment types, making it integral to our operations.

Your collaborative problem-solving abilities will be highly valued as you engage with numerous internal and external partners. You will apply a comprehensive range of validation practices and principles to ensure that studies are designed and executed with a focus on quality. You will have the exciting opportunity to manage, lead, and/or participate in complex cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality or processes, providing a foundation for your professional growth and development.

Your initial focus will involve supporting the introduction of new equipment and products. You will not be alone in this endeavor; you will be responsible for authoring and overseeing equipment qualification, process validation, and cleaning/sanitizing validation studies, with the guidance of our experienced team. Your expertise in these areas will drive best practices and appropriate risk management to ensure efficient and effective studies.

In this role, you will provide solutions to a wide array of challenging technical issues, either collaboratively or independently. You will also have the opportunity to leverage your past experience or learn new skills to execute a broad range of quality functions, including:

  • Development and Review of Validation Procedures: Create and evaluate protocols to ensure that complex systems and machinery consistently produce high-quality outputs.
  • Investigation of Specification Deviations: Analyze discrepancies identified during qualification or validation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and rectify root causes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with manufacturing, engineering, development, and regulatory teams regarding discrepancies; ensure the implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Participation in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to quality enhancement projects, serving as the Quality Assurance (QA) leader for cross-departmental efforts, including equipment certification, process validation, supply chain improvements, and product launches.
  • Customer Advocacy: Represent customers in addressing and resolving quality concerns arising from validation processes.
  • Compliance Verification: Ensure that all products, materials, and services meet established standards and technical criteria through the application of quality management tools and methodologies.
  • Leadership in Global Standards: Lead the establishment and harmonization of global standards, encompassing product specifications and validation methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in validation, process engineering, plant engineering, manufacturing, and/or Quality Assurance in the consumer packaged goods, food, or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Experience working directly with products.
  • Global QA compliance / GMP experience.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in Design for Quality or product/process development is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically focused in one or more of the following areas:
  • Process/packaging validation.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing validation.
  • Equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Key Skills for Success:
  • Experience in or supporting a GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and Design for Quality practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical techniques, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, product development, global engineering, and operations engineering to resolve issues efficiently.

About Our Team:

The Nutrition Quality Engineering Department is a dedicated team of over 25 engineers across multiple sites. We operate in a dynamic environment, supporting both internal and external manufacturing sites to ensure that high-quality products are produced and delivered to our customers. Our team collaborates extensively with cross-functional partners, including engineering, product development, planning, suppliers, and manufacturing, to proactively address product quality challenges. We also work closely with our global QA counterparts across various markets. Our focus is shifting from reactive quality measures to proactive design for quality practices to mitigate issues before they arise.
