Position Summary:
The FSQ Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of systems that ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards. This position requires a strong commitment to reducing variability in both product and process, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
The ideal candidate will oversee the application of industry standards in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on maintaining quality throughout all stages of food processing, packaging, and distribution.
Safety is a core value, and this role will also emphasize the importance of human safety alongside food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, training, and execution of quality systems.
- Oversee quality assurance programs, including the creation of training materials for operational staff.
- Provide technical support and training on GMPs, food safety, and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards.
- Participate in audits and lead the development of Food Safety and Quality programs.
- Foster communication and teamwork across all departments.
- Manage the annual Quality and Sanitation budgets effectively.
- Champion quality improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Monitor sanitation programs to guarantee product safety.
- Communicate key performance indicators related to Food Safety and Quality.
- Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience in aseptic beverage processing is preferred.
- Completion of HACCP training is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Familiarity with food industry quality systems is advantageous.
Preferred Skills:
- Technical expertise in aseptic processes and equipment.
- Experience with microbiological testing and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of new plant startup processes.
- Certifications in Better Process Control School and PCQI are a plus.
- HACCP Manager Internal Auditor training is desirable.
