We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Actalent. As a Quality Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a scientific field and experience in a laboratory environment. You will be responsible for performing quality checks, inspecting incoming ingredients, and assisting in the development of standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control: Perform periodic in-process quality checks, including physical and chemical lab testing, to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications.
- Ingredient Inspection: Inspect and sample incoming ingredients to submit for internal lab testing as required.
- Procedure Development: Assist in drafting, revision, and maintenance of plant standard operating procedures.
- Quality Audits: Participate in plant food safety/quality inspections, in-process inspections, mock recall, label audits, and HACCP audits.
- Production Line Setup: Verify proper set-up of production lines at start-up and shift change, including printer set-up, packaging materials, labeling, and quality limits.
- Sanitation and Cleaning: Review sanitary condition of production lines prior to start-up, verify fillers sterilization limits, perform ATP testing, and follow up sanitation procedures after downtime.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate quality issues across departments and assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Investigations: Perform investigative environmental swabbing of critical production equipment/areas as a troubleshooting guide.
- Quality Hold Management: Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure lab equipment, refrigerators, and thermometers are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Sample Delivery: Perform sample delivery to Micro Lab and others.
- Adherence to GMPs and HACCP: Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field.
- Experience: Industry experience preferred, but not necessarily required.
