Job Title: Community Field Coordinator

This is a seasonal and temporary position for the STRIVE program, which is a transition program for students aged 18-22 with disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Community Field Coordinator will work with students in community-based transition internships, supporting their development of life skills and independence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with disabilities and a strong ability to work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in community-based transition internships
  • Direct worksite activities, including safety protocol, set-up, and clean-up
  • Direct safe arrival and dismissal of students
  • Prepare breakfast for students (Wentworth Training Program only)
  • Teach life skills, such as attendance, on-time performance, and interaction with peer groups
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the ESY Special Education Teacher or ESY Site Coordinator

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants
  • Current Safety-Care certification
  • Minimum of two years experience working with children
  • Experience and ability working with special education teachers and students with disabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Current authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Community Field Coordinator certification
  • Experience in Wentworth Training Program, DISC Program, or other community-based internships within the STRIVE Department
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Fluency in one of the Boston Public Schools' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali, or American Sign Language (ASL)
