Job Title: Lead Coordinator

At Action for Boston Community Development, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Coordinator to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of thousands of individuals in the Greater Boston community.

Job Summary

The Lead Coordinator will be responsible for managing groups of Foster Grandparents, program participants, interns, and youth workers, as well as volunteers. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, screen, and onboard program participants to ensure successful and productive service assignments.
  • Monitor and evaluate volunteer stations to ensure services are delivered effectively.
  • Secure and maintain required forms in volunteer files.
  • Ensure application and criminal history checks on foster grandparents are performed and approved as required prior to service.
  • Function as a liaison between volunteer stations and program participants, providing mediation as necessary.
  • Translate FGP brochures, flyers, and training materials for the Foster Grandparents.
  • Conduct monthly meetings for program participants and provide essential resources.
  • Represent and market the program in the community through presentations and participation in meetings and conferences.
  • Assist the Director – Elder Services with special projects and perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and three to five years of experience in social services, volunteer management, or a related field is required.
  • Experience with supervision, resource development, and marketing is required.
  • An Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development, educational systems, disabilities, and/or aging services is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the needs of older adults and community resources.
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
