Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team at the Department of Transportation. As a key member of our environmental compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects and programs meet the highest environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential environmental risks
  • Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into project planning and decision-making
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues on environmental issues and best practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements
  • Master's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental compliance and sustainability
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and policies
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
